Your Best Life Begins With a Home That Inspires You

Your best life begins with a home that Inspires you.

Inspiration starts with your surroundings: family, friends, a sense of place, an amazing view; it's all part of what makes a space a home. As a Broker Associate for the world’s most notable luxury brand, I have been fortunate enough to represent properties that are as inspirational and aspirational as the individuals who live in them.

I have created a series of interviews highlighting influential leaders that are contributing to the changing landscape of the San Diego community. Within an intimate setting of their home, we learn what drives them, inspires them and why they have selected San Diego to call home.

In this session, you will hear from Dr. Elise Kim Prosser, a UCSD marketing professor, author and actress

PWB: Do you believe architecture can be art?

EP: Absolutely, I feel privileged to live in a work of art. Architect Andy Herbruck designed our home as an homage to the Gamble House, a National Historic Landmark. Of course, the house has all the modern conveniences, too. I have Stickley furniture, but Craftsman architecture goes with many styles. I bought a few mid-century modern pieces recently. My sofa is a replica of the Frank Lloyd Wright original that’s in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It’s beautiful, but truthfully, not very comfortable!

PWB: What specifically drew you to this home?

EP: Fifteen years ago, I remember walking in the front door and getting weak in the knees as I gazed up at the soaring ceilings and river rock fireplace. I also loved the the custom-made stained glass front door and chandeliers hand made by artisan David Frisk. It feels like living in a luxurious tree house high up on the hill. The 100’ tall eucalyptus trees can be appreciated from every window. From the backyard, I notice the colors of the trees change from green to vibrant orange. I’m looking forward to entertaining family and friends for year-end holidays.

PWB: What area of your home most inspires you?

EP: I am inspired by the beauty of my Asian garden at sunset. Hearing the bubbling water fountain lit by a stone lantern welcomes us home.
